Today the Ladies 3s were away to Newbury and Thatcham … and you know what they say about a game of two halves. There was a first half, when they scored 4…
BUT there was also a second half that for us was a thing of beauty, with every single Wallingford player giving it their all and leaving everything we had on the pitch. There were saves on the line to marvel at from marvellous Mairi, expertly timed tackles from across the dynamic defence, and super slick passes and movement of the ball to beat any game of the season so far. In this half, we kept them to 0:0, but it felt like a win. So, 4:0: it could have been a lot worse had we not got our act together.
Gherkin went to Jo for 🤬 and a thoroughly deserved PoM to Mairi for that goal line save and great all-round play.
And with that the 3s head into December with memories of a well-executed second half to raise our spirits; a bit more play like that will be needed against top of the table Windsor next week!
